Change-of-mind cancellations for online orders
For many goods bought online, consumers have a statutory cooling-off period. Where that right applies, you must tell us clearly that you wish to cancel within the applicable period. You can contact us at info@bluecaptimber.ie and should include your order number.
Goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised
The statutory change-of-mind cancellation right may not apply to goods that are made to your specifications or are clearly personalised. We do not assume that every standard catalogue product becomes exempt simply because we manufacture it after receiving the order. Whether an exception applies depends on the actual product and the customer-specific choices involved.
If an order includes individual dimensions, wording, design, engraving, substantial bespoke alterations or another customer-specific specification, contact us before ordering if you are unsure whether cancellation rights will apply.
Returning goods where the cooling-off right applies
If you validly cancel an eligible order, you must return the goods within the period required by law. Unless we agree otherwise or the goods are faulty, you may be responsible for the direct cost of returning them. Goods should be protected appropriately for return.
Refunds after an eligible cancellation
Where a statutory cancellation is valid, refunds will be handled in accordance with applicable consumer law, including any rules concerning standard outbound delivery charges and the timing/method of reimbursement. We may be entitled to wait until returned goods are received, or until you provide evidence of return, where the law permits.
Faulty, damaged or non-conforming goods
The change-of-mind rules above are separate from your statutory rights where goods are faulty, damaged, not as described or otherwise do not conform to the contract. Custom or personalised goods remain covered by those statutory rights.
Please contact info@bluecaptimber.ie as soon as reasonably possible with your order number, a description of the issue and, where useful, photographs showing the problem.
Damage in transit
If a delivered item appears damaged, let us know promptly. Keep the packaging where possible and send clear photographs of the item and packaging so we can investigate.
Collection orders
If you arranged collection and wish to cancel before collection, contact us promptly. Whether a statutory change-of-mind right applies will depend on the nature of the goods and whether a relevant exception applies.
